Discover Sad Night Dynamite, Akira the Don, OSEFH Quintet and more on This Week in Eclectic
Hey fellow music lover! Thanks for reading today’s newsletter. It’s going to be very short.
As you might have noticed, I didn’t write here the past couple weeks. My work at Crash continues to demand more from me—which is a great thing—so I’m finding less time to write about the music I discover each week.
The Spotify playlist is still very much active, updated every Monday:
Each week features ~1 hour of new music (all released in 2020 with very rare exceptions like the Eberhard Weber feature).
I’ve stopped updating the YouTube playlists as well for now, since I don’t use YouTube to listen to music. If someone wants to take over the YouTube playlists, I’d love to discuss details!
As always, keep in touch and let me know what you’re listening to these days. Many of my features come from you, and we’re all better off when we share our new music with each other 😊
Must-listen feature this week: Sad Night Dynamite
I discovered this duo on FIP Radio, which I highly recommend and which powers much of my own music discovery.
#2 on the playlist this week is their most recent single, Icy Violence, which is one of the most unique and catchy tracks I’ve heard in a while. What could have easily been produced in a simple synth or piano, they instead created with an eerie water-in-a-cave acoustic profile that just captures my mind. It’s a terrific example of sound design applied to music.
Stay eclectic my friends,
